Pin Products on Category Pages

When you pin products using Monetate's Personalized Category Pages feature, you ensure the selected products always appear as the first ones on the first list page for the category.

Pinning Products for a Category

Follow these steps to create a default rule that pins one or more products to the beginning of a category's list pages for a single store.

  1. Click COMPONENTS in the top navigation bar, select Personalized Search, and then click the appropriate product catalog on the Personalized Search list page.

  2. Click the Smart Category Merchandising icon in the left-hand vertical toolbar, and then select Single Store.

  3. Click MANAGE RULES & FACETS.

  4. On the Category Selection modal, click the plus sign icon (+) to select the product category for which you want to pin products, and then click PROCEED.

  5. On the Default Rules page, click the edit icon for Manage Pinning.

  6. Find one or more of the products that you want to pin.
    • Click View All Products, scroll through the listings of all the products in the category, and then click the checkmark in the upper-left corner of a product's entry to reserve it for pinning.

    • Enter a word or phrase into the search field to view only those products in the category that have your search query in an attribute value, and then either click the checkmark in the upper-left corner of a product's entry to reserve it for pinning or pin all the search results by clicking the additional options menu (...) and then selecting All Search Results.

  7. If necessary, click PIN SELECTED if you only reserved products for pinning in the previous step.

  8. Click Set Product Orders.

  9. As necessary, arrange the order of the pinned products using any of these options:
    • Drag and drop a product tile into the position where you want it to appear.
    • Change a product's position by typing a different numeral into the edit field, as indicated by the pencil icon.
    • Click the unpin icon to remove a product.

  10. Click APPLY.

  11. Click SAVE & PUBLISH after you finish setting any additional rules.

You must wait up to 10 minutes before you can see the pinned products at the start of their targeted category pages on your site.

Unpinning Products

After you've saved and published the pinned products, you can unpin products directly on the Manage Pinning panel.

  • Click the unpin icon to remove a product.

  • Select All Products from Unpin to remove all pinned products.

Ensure that you click SAVE & PUBLISH after you finish revising the pinned products. You must wait up to 10 minutes before you can see the pinned products at the start of their targeted category pages on your site.
